The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, launched a digital dialogue series named AyurVarta on 1 September 2026. AIIA is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, and the series was introduced ahead of the 11th Ayurveda Day, which falls on 23 September.
AyurVarta and AIIA
AyurVarta is a digital platform for discussions on Ayurveda, a traditional Indian system of medicine with roots in ancient Indian medical texts. The series is designed to present authentic knowledge, scientific perspectives, and contemporary applications of Ayurveda to a global audience.

Ayurveda Day is observed annually on 23 September in India. The Government of India fixed 23 September as the date for Ayurveda Day after earlier observance on Dhanvantari Jayanti, which is linked with Dhanteras in the Hindu calendar.

The inaugural episode of AyurVarta featured a dialogue between AIIA Director Professor (Vaidya) P. K. Prajapati and AIIA Dean (Ph.D.) Professor (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas. The episode discussed the question, “Why is Ayurveda Day celebrated on 23 September?”
