VegFed opens its first Patna vegetable outlet with online ordering and home delivery

The Bihar Vegetable Federation (VegFed) opened its first Patna vegetable outlet on Sunday, 1 November 2026. The Chief Minister inaugurated the outlet near Zoo Gate No. 2, on the road to Raj Bhavan. Operated through a committee under Bihar’s Co-operative Department, it displayed 38 kinds of vegetables, including spinach, cauliflower, beetroot, chillies and potatoes.

Farmer procurement and customer services

VegFed buys produce directly from farmers. The stated aim is to reduce intermediaries, support farmers in securing a fair price for their produce and help make vegetables available to customers at lower prices. A price list is displayed at the outlet, whose stock and variety may change daily. It is scheduled to operate from 5:30 am to 10 am.

Customers can order through tarkari.in or the mobile number displayed at the outlet, and choose collection or home delivery. VegFed plans 30–35 outlets in Patna; three were scheduled to open that week. A Meethapur hub has grading, sorting and storage facilities to support orders.
