Important Facts for Exams

  • Olympic boxing categories: The Olympic boxing programme uses different men’s and women’s weight-class line-ups, which the IOC can revise between Games.
  • Boxing decision notation: Scores such as 5-0, 4-1 and 3-2 in amateur boxing report how judges split a decision; they are not round scores or points totals.
  • Army athlete development: Pune’s Army Sports Institute, established in 2001, develops elite Indian Army athletes; boxing is among its designated training disciplines.
