India to host International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026

The International Type 1 Diabetes Summit 2026 will be held in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, from 30 July to 1 August 2026. The summit was unveiled at the Constitution Club of India in New Delhi on 23 July 2026 and is being organised through a collaboration involving The Friends of Mewar, Breakthrough T1D, and the William J. Clinton Foundation.

Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. It usually requires lifelong insulin therapy, regular blood glucose monitoring, and clinical follow-up by endocrinologists or diabetes specialists.

The three-day summit will bring together endocrinologists, healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and patient advocates from the United States, Australia, and India. The main discussion areas include equitable Type 1 diabetes care, insulin access, diabetes technology, mental health support, and digital innovation.

The summit is linked with the formal recognition of Type 1 diabetes in children within India’s national health policy. National health policy frameworks in India cover prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and access to essential medicines through public health systems.
