Major General Per Gustaf Lodin of Sweden is the newly appointed Chief Military Observer and Head of Mission for the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). He succeeded Major General Delali Johnson Sakyi of Ghana. Prior to this appointment, he was Director of Procurement and Logistics for the Swedish Armed Forces. The UNMOGIP observes and reports on ceasefire violations along and across the Line of Control (LoC) and the working boundary between the nuclear-armed South Asian neighbors, India and Pakistan, in Jammu and Kashmir and also reports developments that could lead to ceasefire violations.
