Notes:
The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) has designed and developed indigenously, a charger for electric vehicles, named AC001. This is taken up for large scale manufacturing by Bharat Electronics.
Presently most of the charging components for electric vehicles are imported. The indigenous development and manufacturing of these components would boost electric mobility in India.

Notes:
The state assembly of Karnataka has passed a bill to amend the Karnataka Police Act 1963, which seeks to ban online “Games of chance”. Under the bill, an online game of chance is defined as “any act or risking money, on the unknown result of an event”.
The bill has been passed by a voice vote. The bill does not prohibit online games that are “games of skill”.

The Government of India’s Government e Marketplace (GeM) initiative has been adjudged as the winner of CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards 2021, under the “Best Use of Digital Technology” category. The award ceremony was held in London, UK.
GeM is a dedicated online marketplace for procurement of goods and services by Govt. Government Organisations, Departments and PSUs.

Notes:
India’s food regulator – Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has mandated that the industrially produced trans fats should be limited to less than 2% and make the country free from trans-fat, by 2022.
Recently FSSAI has stated that, only 1.34% of the newly tested processed food samples have shown breach of prescribed levels of industrially produced trans fats, which shows that India is on track to become Trans Fat free.

Notes:
The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has released a report titled “Climate Indicators and Sustainable Development: Demonstrating the Interconnections”. The report stresses the need for immediate action and international collaboration for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to curtail global warming to less than 2 °C.
WMO is a UN specialized agency, which is headquartered at Geneva, Switzerland.
