‘India Hypertension Control Initiative (IHCI)’ is a hypertension intervention under the National Health Mission of India. It is a collaborative initiative of Union Health Ministry, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), state governments and World Health Organization-India.
IHCI won the ‘2022 UN Interagency Task Force and WHO Special Programme on Primary Health Care Award’ was announced at the UN General Assembly side event.

The Central government notified the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022, which would enable investigating Police Officers to collect the biometric details of prisoners.
The law was passed by the Parliament in April 2022. The law also empowers a magistrate to order the documenting of measurements or photographs of a person during the probe of an offence.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has unveiled a detailed framework for Social Stock Exchange (SSE).
It specifies minimum requirements for a Not-for-Profit Organisation (NPO) for registration and disclosure requirements. The capital markets regulator SEBI earlier notified rules for Social Stock Exchange (SSE) to provide social enterprises with an additional avenue to raise funds.

Union Minister of Education and Skill Development Dharmendra Pradhan launched the SCALE (Skill Certification Assessment for Leather Employees) app.
It provides a one-stop solution for skilling, learning, assessment, and employment needs of the leather industry. He launched the application during a visit to CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has recently released a supplement to its Asian Development Outlook (ADO).
As per the report, the 2022-23 growth projection for India’s economy was slashed to 7% from 7.5% estimated in April. The report says that India’s inflation has turned out to be more persistent than expected, and led to a sharp tightening in monetary policy, eroding consumers’ purchasing power.
