In the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU)-UNESCO Peace Media Awards 2021, Doordarshan’s ‘DEAFinitely Leading the Way’ won the award under ‘Living Well with Super Diversity’ category.
All India Radio’s program called ‘Living on the edge – The coastal lives’ won the award in ‘Ethical & Sustainable Relationship with Nature’ category. The awards ceremony was held at Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.

India’s first virtual science lab for children under the ‘CSIR Jigyasa’ programme was launched recently, by the Union Minister of State for Science & Technology, Jitendra Singh.
CSIR has partnered with IIT Bombay to develop a virtual lab platform under the ‘CSIR Jigyasa’ programme, which enables classroom learning with laboratory research for school students. The target audience for the virtual lab is students of classes 6-12.

The Joint Parliamentary Committee on Personal Data Protection (PDP) Bill 2019 has defended the controversial exemption clause that allows the Government to keep any of its agencies outside the purview of the law.
The committee, headed by P P Chaudhary, has retained the Clause with minor change. The report will now be presented in the Parliament.

Kanaka Dasa Jayanthi is celebrated in Karnataka to pay tribute to the 15th century poet, saint and social reformer Kanaka Dasa.
Kaginele, the birthplace of Saint Kanaka Dasa is refurbished by the Government for public visiting. The kirtans sung by Kanaka Dasa and other Dasas of the Bhakti movement including Puranadara Dasa, Vijaya Dasa and Gopala Dasa are known as Dasa Sahitya and Devaranamas in Kannada literature.

Australia signed an agreement with the USA and UK allowing the exchange of sensitive “naval nuclear propulsion information” between their nations.
This three-way deal gives Australia US nuclear-powered submarine technology. It is the first agreement on the technology to be publicly signed since the three countries announced the formation of a defence alliance, AUKUS.
