Notes:
Paris-based Financial Action Task Force has added the UAE in its Grey List. It is a list of 23 countries of increased monitoring including fellow Middle-East nations Jordan, Syria and Yemen.
UAE has recently established a corporate registry and signed extradition agreements with other nations. Pakistan has been retained in the Grey list of FATF.

Notes:
Kavach is the indigenously developed ‘Automatic Train Protection System’, which was recently tested on South Central Railway.
As per the Union Budget, the system is scheduled for complete rollout on 2,000 km in 2022-23. It is India’s own automatic protection system in development since 2012, under the name Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), which got renamed to Kavach.

‘Glycosmis albicarpa’, a new gin berry species, was recently discovered from Kanyakumari Wildlife Sanctuary, Tamil Nadu.
A team of scientists from the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) has discovered the species with a distinct large white fruit. The species is endemic to the southern Western Ghats and it belongs to the Orange family, Rutaceae.

Article 176(1) of the Constitution states that ‘Governor shall address both the houses of the state legislative assembly together at the commencement of the first Session after each general election and at the first session of each year’.
The article is in the news recently because Government of Telangana has announced its decision on conducting the budget session of the legislature without the customary Governor’s address.

The Government of India has appointed Delhi High Court Chief Justice D N Patel as the chairperson of the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal.
The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) was set up to adjudicate disputes among telecom operators and consumers. The tribunal consists of a Chairperson who should be or should have been a Judge of the Supreme Court or the Chief Justice of a High Court.
