Akums Develops DCGI-Approved Triple Therapy Combikit for H. pylori

Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. announced a DCGI-approved triple therapy combikit for adults with Helicobacter pylori infection on 21 September 2026. The combikit contains Vonoprazan 20 mg, Clarithromycin 500 mg, and Amoxicillin 1000 mg, and it is prescribed as a twice-daily regimen for 14 days.

Helicobacter pylori Infection

Helicobacter pylori is a bacterium that infects the stomach lining and is linked with chronic gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. It is also classified as a major risk factor for gastric cancer in medical literature.

Triple Therapy Combikit

Triple therapy for H. pylori commonly uses one acid-suppressing medicine and two antibiotics. In this combikit, Vonoprazan acts as a potassium-competitive acid blocker, while Clarithromycin and Amoxicillin serve as antibacterial agents.
