Ujjain plans Krishna research library and Sandipani Ashram redevelopment
Madhya Pradesh plans to establish a modern research library on Lord Krishna in Ujjain. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav discussed the proposal at a meeting of the Sri Krishna Pathey Nyas in Bhopal on Monday.
Library, Digital Platform and Pilgrimage Sites
The proposed library will house rare manuscripts, research papers and historical documents related to Krishna. A separate digital platform is planned for documentaries, plays, music programmes, research material and other creative works related to him.
The state also plans to develop Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain and other Krishna-related pilgrimage sites in Madhya Pradesh. A ground-breaking ceremony has been held for development and restoration work at the ashram. National and regional symposiums on Krishna’s ideas concerning agriculture, cow conservation, the economy and life management are also planned.
At the meeting, Yadav also discussed plans to use temple-linked land for agricultural and commercial activities, with the stated aim of supporting temple income and management. A proposal was raised to direct part of the income of major temples towards gaushalas and nearby village development.
