Important Facts for Exams

  • Bow-draw classes: Archery bows are broadly divided into those drawn directly by the archer and those that use a mechanism to pull the string.
  • Arrow-release side: In Western archery, a right-handed archer usually releases the arrow from the bow’s left side.
  • Recurve set scoring: In World Archery individual recurve matches, winning an end earns two set points, a tied end earns one each, and the first archer to six points wins.
  • Target-match shoot-offs: If a World Archery target match remains tied after its sets, a one-arrow shoot-off decides the winner; equally close arrows require another shoot-off.
