PBSHABD Expands Verified News Access Across India

Prasar Bharati’s PB-SHABD, or Prasar Bharati – Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination, is a free multimedia news feed service for registered media organisations in India. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting launched the platform on 13 March 2024 in New Delhi, and free access has been extended until March 2027 for 3,600 media organisations.

PB-SHABD Platform

PB-SHABD provides ready-to-use news content in text, video, audio, photographs and infographics. The platform offers content in 15 Indian languages and covers nearly 50 news categories, including national, regional and local developments.

Coverage and Content Network

The service supplies over 1,000 daily news stories. Its content is logo-free and does not require credit when used by registered media organisations. PB-SHABD uses a network of more than 1,500 reporters, correspondents and stringers, along with 60 dedicated 24×7 edit desks.

Live Feed and Archival Features

The platform includes a live feed feature for events of national importance, investiture ceremonies and press briefings. It also provides an archival library for stored news material and reference use.
