Pakistan Issues Rs 75 Coin for China Ties

Pakistan has decided to issue a special Rs 75 commemorative coin to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations with China. The State Bank of Pakistan announced that the coin will be available to the public from May 25, 2026, through exchange counters at the field offices of the SBP Banking Services Corporation.

Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations

Pakistan and China established diplomatic relations on May 21, 1951. The two countries are often described as strategic partners in South Asia and East Asia, and their bilateral ties cover diplomacy, trade, defence, and infrastructure cooperation.

Coin Design and Specifications

The commemorative coin is round and made of copper-nickel. It contains 75% copper and 25% nickel, has a diameter of 36 mm, and weighs 19 grams. The reverse side of the coin carries the national flags of Pakistan and China. It also bears the inscription “75TH ANNIVERSARY OF PAKISTAN AND CHINA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS” and the words “TRUST FRIENDSHIP SUPPORT” in English, Urdu, and Chinese.

The State Bank of Pakistan is the central bank of Pakistan and manages currency issuance in the country. The SBP Banking Services Corporation operates field offices that handle public exchange and cash services. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to visit China from May 23 to 26, 2026.
