Indian President Droupadi Murmu is set to launch the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan ‘Ni-kshay 2.0’ portal.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has set a target for eradication of tuberculosis by 2025. Nikshay 2.0 is a digital platform for community support for the persons with TB. It provides additional patient support to improve treatment outcome of tuberculosis patients.

Notes:
The Tamil Nadu government launched the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Higher Education Assurance Scheme, also known as the ‘Pudhumai Pen Scheme’.
It provides a monthly grant of Rs 1,000 to female students to pursue a bachelor’s degree, diploma, ITI, or any other recognised course. Those who attended government schools from Class 6 to 12 will be eligible for the financial aid.

Notes:
The Union Cabinet approved a policy for long-term leasing of railway land for the PM Gati Shakti programme.
The new policy will facilitate to provide land lease for a longer period of up to 35 years as against five years at present. The new policy will enable the development of infrastructure and more cargo terminals. It has also cut down land lease fee from 6 percent to 1.5 percent.

The Indian Government, along with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has prepared an action plan for facilitation of special rupee accounts for trade settlements.
Banks are asked to speed up the process of opening special rupee vostro accounts (SRVA) of correspondent banks of partner trading countries. This aims to promote cross-border trade in rupees instead of the US dollar.

Himalaya Diwas is celebrated every year on 9th September in the state of Uttarakhand, with an aim to conserve Himalayan ecosystem and region. It was officially declared as Himalaya Day in 2015 by the state’s then Chief Minister.
In 2014, the then Chief Minister Harish Rawat officially declared September 9 as ‘Himalaya Diwas’, to be celebrated across the State to spread the message of conservation of the Himalayan ecosystems.
