JEEViKA

Launched in 2007, Bihar Rural Livelihood Project (BRLP) or JEEViKA is a World Bank-backed initiative aimed at economically empowering rural poor in the state. In 2020, the state became the first in India to have more than 10 lakh women SHGs because of this programme. Recently, the state government approved the education department’s proposal to provide the contract to Jeevika SHGs for supplying school uniforms for students in state-run schools.
