The selected candidates would be designated at various nodal units of Southern Railway (Central Workshop, Golden Rock or Carriage Works, Perambur or Signal & Telecommunication Workshop / Podanur). However, the candidates can apply for only one Nodal unit of Southern Railway : Central Workshop, Golden Rock or Carriage Works, Perambur or Signal & Telecommunication Workshop / Podanur.

How to Apply

  • Website to Apply: Online Applications have to be submitted only on RRC’s website
  • The website will have detailed instructions for filling up the online application. Candidates are requested to fill up their personal details carefully.

Note: After submission of the online application, the candidates will be issued a registration number which has to be preserved by the candidate for the further stages of the recruitment process.

Age Limit

Minimum: 15 years

Upper Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed 22/24 years for fresher’s /Ex-ITI, MLT respectively.

The upper age is relaxable as follows:

  • SC/ST communities: 5 years
  • OBC communities: 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years for UR, 13 years for OBC and 15 years for SC/ST candidates.

Educational Qualification

Aspiring candidates should have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent. The candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board and in case of ITI in relevant trade.

Mode of Selection:

The candidates will be selected only on the basis of merit. In the case of two candidates obtaining equal marks, the candidate with older age would be preferred. If the date of birth is also the same, then the candidate who passed the matriculation exam earlier than the other would be preferred.

Application Fee

The candidates should pay a fee of Rs. 100 as part of the online application process. The fee should be paid only through online mode.
