Ebola is a rare but deadly viral disease that causes fever, body aches, diarrhoea and sometimes internal and external bleeding. The virus damages immune system and internal organs, leading to the drop in blood-clot levels and severe bleeding. The average case fatality rate is around 50 per cent. The pathogen transmits from animals to humans as well as among the human population. Guinea recently confirmed cases and declared Ebola epidemic.
