The Governor of Georgia, Brian P. Kemp, has announced that November 1 will be observed as ‘Kannada Language and Rajyotsava Day’.
Georgia had become the first state in the U.S. to issue such a proclamation for Kannada. Karnataka is set to celebrate Kannada Rajyotsava. Georgia houses one of the biggest Indian diaspora in the U.S. Kannada is one of the longest-surviving classical languages, with a rich literature and inscriptions dating back to 450 BCE.

The United Nations General Assembly has declared the year 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables, with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) as the lead agency to celebrate this year, along with other relevant organizations.
This year seeks to spread awareness on the role played by fruits and vegetables in human nutrition, and in food security.

The USA has announced that it would provide USD 144 million assistance to the people of Afghanistan who have been facing hardships and humanitarian crisis under the Taliban.
USA has proposed to provide the assistance directly to international and non-governmental humanitarian organisations like UN HCR, UNICEF, WHO etc.

The Changing Wealth of Nations 2021 report has been published by the World Bank. As per the report, South Asia suffers the most among all regions of the world in terms of loss of human capital due to air pollution.
The report has measured wealth creation and distribution in 146 countries covering a 20-year period from 1995-2018. Human capital was the largest source of worldwide wealth, with 64 per cent of total global wealth in 2018.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is organising a week-long Deep Dive Online Training program.
The training program is organised by National e-Governance Division at MeitY under the Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative. MeitY launched the Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative in 2018, as the first public-private partnership in cyber awareness. This online program trains Chief Information Security officers (CISO) along with IT staff of different Ministries, PSUs and Banks.

Indian Railways has introduced a special train ‘Gati Shakti Superfast Special train’ between Delhi and Patna.
The Anand Vihar Terminal – Patna – Anand Vihar Terminal Gati Shakti Superfast Special train has been launched for the convenience of the passengers during this festive season. The Superfast Special train runs with 20 new 3-AC Economy Class coaches.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet reappointed Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for three years beyond 10.12.2021 or until further orders.
Shaktikanta Das, a retired Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer, assumed charge as the 25th governor of the RBI effective December 12, 2018. He had also served as a member of the 15th Finance Commission for a year. Benegal Rama Rau served RBI Governor between July 1, 1949, and January 14, 1957 and that is the longest such tenure so far.

The Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy approved passing a resolution in the Assembly urging the Centre to undertake caste census of Backward Classes while conducting general census 2021.
Cabinet gave its approval for setting up a separate department for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) to effectively implement schemes. It was also decided to set up separate corporations for the welfare of Jains and Sikhs in the State.

Plogging is an activity that combines Fitness and cleanliness in which participants collect litter while jogging.
The Fit India Plog Run is an annual nationwide event organised as part of the Fit India Movement was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in the national capital. The event, which was attended by over 500 athletes and coaches, is led by Ripudaman Bevli, who is known as the Plogman of India.

Karnataka government launched ‘Janasevaka’, an online portal, and ‘Janaspandana’, an Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System (IPGRS).
Janasevaka is an initiative to help people avail government services easily. People can get up to 56 government services delivered to their doorsteps, including home delivery of ration, Aadhar card, Income certificate etc. using a mobile application or website, or via a call centre.
