“World Economic Outlook” is the annual flagship report released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This year, the report is to be released on April 6. The International Monetary Fund has announced that India’s economy is on the path of gradual recovery. It highlighted the return to positive territory in fourth quarter of 2020.

A skyscraper-sized cargo ship MV Ever Given recently stuck in the Suez Canal near Suez, Egypt. As it stuck across the canal, over 150 other vessels which were to pass the waterway were waiting for the obstruction to clear.
Ever Given vehicle was carrying cargo between Asia and Europe. The Suez Canal is a narrow, man-made canal that divides continental Africa from the Sinai Peninsula.

As per a latest forecast by the World Bank, China is set to lead economic recovery of East Asian and Pacific economies in the year 2021.
The report predicts that China will grow by 8.1% in 2021, compared with 2.3% the previous year. The East Asian and Pacific region would grow by 7.4% compared to 1.2 per cent growth in 2020.

The Indian women’s team won Gold in the 25m Pistol Team event of ISSF World Cup being held in New Delhi.
India placed its victory against Poland in the finals to win India’s 10th gold medal. India is leading the tournament with 10 gold, six silver and five bronze medals.

The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has mandated all companies to disclose their investments in cryptocurrencies and expenditures made in corporate social responsibility.
In this regard, the ministry has brought about suitable amendments in the Companies Act 2013. These amendments would come in force from the financial year 2021-22 starting April 1st 2021.

The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) has recently invited research proposals for projects with special focus on improving female participation in economic activities of India.
The Ministry has announced grants in aid to NGOs, Universities, institutions etc for research, publication, and monitoring.

Earth Hour, is being held annually on the last Saturday of March across the world. This year, the Earth Hour Day was observed on March 27.
The Earth hour began as a symbolic lights-out event in Sydney by WWF and partners in 2007. It has turned into one of the world’s biggest events. The event calls for actions to raise awareness about the importance of nature and the role people can play in global efforts for nature.

The Government of China has entered into a 25-year “strategic cooperation pact” with the Government of Iran. The pact which was under work for more than 5 years has been materialised recently
China has always backed Iran even during fractious moments with USA. China is one of the largest trade partners of Iran.

As per a recent report by Rystad Energy, by replacing humans with robots on oil rigs, the US oil industry could save more than $7 billion in wages
The report suggested that two out of every 10 oil workers in drilling, operational support and maintenance of oil rigs could be replaced by automation over the next decade.

As per the data released by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Karnataka has the highest number of vehicles which are older than 15 years are plying on roads.
The number of such vehicles pan India is more than four crore vehicles and Karnataka has topped the list with 70 lakh vehicles.
