The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is an autonomous institution under the Department of Space (DoS) and a ‘Deemed to be University’, based at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has partnered with the IIST, similar to the JPL-Caltech model in the United States. A Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO) located at Bengaluru will coordinate joint research activities between ISRO centres and IIST.

Sanjeev Kumar, a 1991 batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI), it said.
As per the order issued by the Personnel Ministry, Atish Chandra will be Chairman and Managing Director, Food Corporation of India in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. As many as 22 bureaucrats have been appointed to different ministries.

Every year on the March 25th, “International Day of Solidarity with Detained and Missing Staff Members” is observed by the United Nations.
It is marked every year on the anniversary of abduction of a former journalist – Alec Collett. He was working for the UN – Relief and Works Agency in Palestine when he was abducted by armed gunman in 1985.

The United States Trade Representative (USTR) has proposed retaliatory trade actions against India and some other countries for imposing Equalisation levy on e-commerce companies.
In June 2020, the US initiated an investigation under Section 301 of the US Trade Act, 1974 against the taxation on the digital services or the Equalisation levy by India, Italy, Turkey, UK, Spain and Austria.

The United States is set to host the two-day climate summit of world leaders starting on Earth Day, April 22. During the summit, the President Joe Biden is expected to announce the nationally determined contribution of the US.
In this regard, the US President has invited 40 world leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the summit.

As per a recent report by Rystad Energy, by replacing humans with robots on oil rigs, the US oil industry could save more than $7 billion in wages
The report suggested that two out of every 10 oil workers in drilling, operational support and maintenance of oil rigs could be replaced by automation over the next decade.

The 3rd Joint Logistics Node (JLN) of Indian Armed Forces has been made operationalised in Mumbai by the Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.
This JLN will provide integrated logistics support to the Armed Forces for their small arms ammunition, rations, fuel, general stores, civil hired transport etc.

The Government of India has announced scholarships to 2000 descendants of the Liberation War fighters of Bangladesh under its new Muktijoddha Scholarship scheme, which was announced it 2017.
The scheme aims to benefit 10,000 students from Bangladesh over a period of five years. This year, 1000 students each from the Higher Secondary and Undergraduate categories have been given as scholarship directly in their account.

France is set to conduct the joint naval exercise, La Pérouse, in the Bay of Bengal from April 5 to 7. India is set to join its Quad partners — Australia, Japan, and the United States in the exercise.
Two French Navy ships will be joined by ships from India, Australia, Japan, and the U.S. to promote multilateralism at sea and create free and open Indo-Pacific. India and France will also hold the bilateral naval exercise, Varuna later this month.

Recently, a new view of the black hole has been released by astronomers working with the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT). In this view, the astronomers have mapped the magnetic fields close to the hole.
The event horizon telescope first revealed the images of black hole, in the year 2018, which is located in the galaxy M87 at a distance of 55 million light-years.
