Chatra is situated in the northern part of this plateau. The river flows through Gaya in Bihar after merging approximately 3 km below Bodh Gaya. The plateau is distinct from Ranchi Plateau, Amarkantak Plateau, and Singhbhum Plateau, which are located in different regions.
