Chhota Nagpur Plateau
The Phalgu River originates from the confluence of the Lilajan (Niranjana) and Mohana rivers in Chatra district, Jharkhand, located on the Chhota Nagpur Plateau. Chatra is situated in the northern part of this plateau. The river flows through Gaya in Bihar after merging approximately 3 km below Bodh Gaya. The plateau is distinct from Ranchi Plateau, Amarkantak Plateau, and Singhbhum Plateau, which are located in different regions.
