Hint: This answer would need reference of Navara Rice; Palakkadan Matta Rice, Pokkali Rice, Wayanad Jeerakasala Rice, Wayanad Gandhakasala Rice, Kaipad Rice, all of these are GI protected. Navara Rice is used in treatment of neuromuscular diseases. Pokkali Rice should be noted for its unique Rice-Prawn cropping pattern; Kaipad rice is also done organically under salinity prone waterlogged fields and its own unique ‘kaipad’ system of rice cultivation has developed in Kerala. This is an integrated organic farming system in which rice cultivation and aquaculture go hand in hand.
