Gujarat state government has declared a comprehensive ban on gutka, which will come into effect from September 11, 2012. From this date the state will ban, the production, storage, sale and distribution of gutka.
Recently, Maharashtra imposed a comprehensive ban on gutka and pan masala. Gutka is already banned in Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan.
