Notes: Shivaji Raje Bhonsle visited Agra with his son, faced humiliation from Aurangzeb, and escaped disguised as a palanquin bearer. Aurangzeb granted him the title of Raja and the Jagir of Berar. Shivaji hid in baskets of sweets during his escape and later established a strong Maratha navy. His coronation in 1674 as Chhatrapati marked his sovereignty and independence from Mughal rule.
