Notes: Dr. S. Radhakrishnan represented India in UNESCO before his presidency. He was also India’s first Vice-President and second President. Besides being a politician, he was a renowned philosopher, author, and educationalist, interpreting Indian philosophy in Western terms. In 1932, he also represented India at the League of Nations. April 5, his birthday, is celebrated as Teachers Day in India.
