Birsa Munda (1875-1900) was a tribal leader from Jharkhand. He led the Ulgulan revolt against British land policies in Chhotanagpur. Among tribal groups such as the Mundas, Oraons, and Kharias, he was called "Dharti Aaba," meaning "Father of the Earth." This name signified his role as protector of tribal land and culture. Jharkhand residents revere him as a deity under this title.
