Fagua is a traditional folk music and dance of Jharkhand performed during Holi. Holi, also called Phagua, occurs in the month of Falgun and involves singing and dancing with instruments like Mandar, Dhol, Nagara, Bansuri, and clarinet. The festival celebrates the arrival of spring and the harvest. Phagua songs often deify Radha and mark the transition between the months Falgun and Chaitra. Other festivals like Rakshabandhan, New Year, and Deepawali are not associated with Fagua music.
