“Heartland Tripura” Skill Development Project

In an effort to bolster the employability and skillsets of Tripura’s youth, a project named “Heartland Tripura” was officially launched today. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving Deloitte India and the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) in Agartala.

About the Project

“Heartland Tripura” aims to create fresh avenues for career advancement and personal development for undergraduate students, encompassing both engineering and non-engineering disciplines. The project has received support from both the Government of India and the State Government of Tripura.

Skills Provided

The “Heartland Tripura” project is set to provide a broad array of modern technical and professional development skills, ensuring comprehensive youth development. These skills include:

Cybersecurity: Equipping students with knowledge and expertise in protecting digital systems and data.
Internal Audit: Training in auditing processes and financial analysis.
Analytics: Building skills in data analysis and interpretation.
Soft Skills: Enhancing communication, executive presence, grooming, and other interpersonal abilities.

Supporting College Placement Season

The initiative is committed to supporting educational institutions during their placement seasons. Several esteemed institutions are part of this project, including:

NIT College: National Institute of Technology, Tripura.
Tripura Institute of Technology: Providing technical education in the state.
Maharaja Bir Bikram College: A prominent college in Tripura.
Women’s College in Agartala: Fostering women’s education and development.
TECE: Expanding educational opportunities in Tripura.

Deloitte’s Integral Role

Deloitte India plays a pivotal role in “Heartland Tripura” by:

Curriculum Development: Creating industry-focused curriculum to prepare students for real-world challenges.
NCVET-Based Certification: Ensuring nationally recognized certifications.
Trainer Access: Providing access to experienced trainers from Deloitte’s professional network.
Placement Fair Guidance: Assisting colleges in organizing successful placement fairs.

Identifying Job Opportunities

The project also aims to identify target organizations that can offer job placements to graduates. Additionally, it seeks to build an advocacy network to encourage private companies to hire graduates from select colleges in Tripura. This initiative strives to bridge the gap between education and employment, providing students with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in the workforce.
