Examine the rationality of the proposed National Food Grid in context with seasonal spike of food prices in the country.

Hint:
The proposed National Food Grid aimed at connecting the food deficient areas with food surplus region and reduction of wastage of fruits and vegetables. Thus; it ensures stable food prices and contains food price inflation. The idea is excellent but requires essentials such as real time data availability and presence of a national cold chain grid; and a mechanism to make faster decision at the times of price spikes which may be difficult to achieve.
Update:
Government had made it clear that as of now, it has not proposals to create such grid.
