Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway appointed as UN Women Goodwill Ambassador

Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway was named as the Global Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women.
In her new role she will focus her efforts on injustices mothers around the world and also challenging issues like unpaid leave, wage gaps and a lack of access to affordable childcare.

• Anne Hathaway is Hollywood actress and singer from United States. She had started her professional acting career in the television series Get Real.
• Her first appearance as lead role in the film was in The Princess Diaries. Later in 2005 she had starred in Brokeback Mountain alongwith Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal.
• In 2006, she acted in the movie The Devil Wears Prada. In 2012, she received the Academy Award (Oscar) for Best Supporting Actress for the film Les Misérables.
