Telhara excavation site

Telhara is an excavation site in Bihar where the remains of an ancient Buddhist university are buried under a 35 ft high mound. The remains also include terracotta sealings with inscriptions in Pali language, similar to those found at the ancient Nalanda University. The initial excavation started in 2009 but was stopped 5 years later. The Archaeological Survey of India is giving the go ahead for resumption of the excavation process.
