Railway Recruitment Cell, South Western Railway invites online applications for 963 posts of Act Apprentices for imparting training under the Apprentice Act 1961. The selected candidates would be designated at various Divisions and Units falling under the jurisdiction of South Western Railways.

NOTE:

Preference:

Though the notification is open to all, those candidates registered with local employment exchange in Karnataka and adjoining districts of states served by South Western Railway such as  Tamilnadu (Dharmapuri, Salem & Vellore districts), Andhra Pradesh (Anantapur & Chittoor districts), Maharashtra (Sangli district) & Goa would be given preference.

  • Candidates have to apply only through online
  • Candidates are requested to take print out of the computer generated registration form for their own record.
  • The website will have detailed instructions for filling up the online application.
  • Candidates are requested to fill up their personal details carefully.

Application Fee

  • The candidates should pay a fee of Rs. 100 as part of the online application process.
  • SC/ST/Women/PWD candidates are exempted from paying a fee
  • Candidates need to pay the fee only through online mode. They can pay only through Internet Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card. No other mode of fee payment is available

Educational Qualification

Aspiring candidates should have passed the Matric/10th class examination or its equivalent. The candidates must have secured minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board and in case of ITI in a relevant trade.

Selection Process

The candidates will be selected only on the basis of merit. The merit list will be drafted by taking into account the average of the %age of marks obtained by the candidates in both Matriculation (with minimum 50% aggregate marks) and ITI examination. Both will be given equal weightage.

For the calculation of %age of marks obtained in matriculation, marks obtained in ALL subjects will be taken into account. It shall not be based on any one subject or a group of subjects.

Age Limit

Minimum: 15 years

Upper Age Limit: Candidates should not have completed 24 years as on the last date of notification.

The upper age is relaxable as follows:

  • SC/ST communities: 5 years
  • OBC communities: 3 years
  • Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 10 years
