Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi led India’s delegation at the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The session was launched on 10 March 2025 at the UN Headquarters in New York. India addressed 12 key areas for women’s empowerment with a ‘whole-of-government’ and ‘whole-of-society approach.’ She held bilateral meetings with leaders from Sierra Leone, Uzbekistan, Guyana, and Chile. CSW is a major global body focused on gender equality and women’s rights.

The United Nations’ SDG goal is to end TB by 2030 with a 90% reduction in incidence, 95% reduction in mortality, and zero catastrophic costs. The Global TB Report 2024 warns that these targets may not be met due to complex diagnostics, drug-resistant TB, and lack of healthcare access. India’s TB Treatment Coverage reached 92.4% (global target: 90% by 2027). Treatment Success Rate in 2022 was 87.6% (target: 92%). India accounts for 26% of global TB cases, with 195 cases per 100,000 population. 2.552 million TB cases were reported, missing the 2.762 million target.

India hosts the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Private Sector Collaborative Forum 2025 in Mumbai. The forum will focus on payment transparency, financial inclusion, and digital financial system transformation. Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is an intergovernmental body combating money laundering and terrorist financing. FATF sets international standards and policies to prevent financial crimes. It was established in 1989 during the G7 Summit in Paris to address money laundering concerns. In 2001, its mandate expanded to include terrorism financing. FATF’s headquarters is in Paris, France.
