Sakharam Ganesh Deuskar
Sakharam Ganesh Deuskar wrote ‘Desher Katha’ in Bengali in 1904. The book detailed British economic exploitation and psychological control of India. It was popular during the 1905-1908 Swadeshi movement and was banned by the Bengal government in 1910. Deuskar was a close associate of Sri Aurobindo. The book became mandatory reading for activists and sold 10,000 copies initially.
