Indian wrestler Tapasya won India’s first gold medal at the U20 World Wrestling Championships 2025 in Bulgaria. She defeated Norway’s Felicitas Domajeva 5-2 in the women’s 57kg category final. Tapasya previously beat Dolzhon Tsyngueva (6-0), Romaissa El Kharroubi (France), and Sowaka Uchida (Japan, 4-3). In women’s 68kg category, Srishti won silver, losing 0-7 to Japan’s Ray Hoshino. Priya Malik and Reena reached finals in 76kg and 55kg categories, defeating Serbia’s Evelin Ujhelji 10-0 and Romania’s Voiculescu Alexandra 11-1. In men’s 57kg category, Sumit Malik won silver, losing 5-8 to Russia’s Magomed Odzamirov. India has won three medals so far: one gold and two silver at U20 World Wrestling Championships 2025.
