Notes: The Third Anglo-Maratha War (1817–1818) was fought between the British troops led by Warren Hastings and the Maratha confedracy. In it, the entire forces of Marathas were defeated by British forces. Excerpts of the outcome of the war are

b) Peshwaship was abolished and Baji Rao II was pensioned (8 lakhs per annum) at Bithur near Kanpur.
c) Bombay presidency was enlarged by merging the conquered territories of Peshwa in Poona.
