Notes: Bakhtiyar Khilji, a general under Alauddin Khalji, led the first Muslim invasion into Assam in the early 13th century. Mahmud of Ghazni invaded parts of India but did not enter Assam. Alauddin Khalji ruled later and did not personally invade Assam. Babur founded the Mughal Empire but did not invade Assam.
