Notes: Shah Shuja (1616–1661) and Murad Baksh (1624–1661) were sons of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. Aurangzeb (1618–1707) was their elder brother, and Dara Shikoh (1615–1659) was the eldest son. Dara Shikoh was a scholar, translated the Upanishads into Persian, and supported arts and Sufism.
