Jagannathrao Joshi
Jagannathrao Joshi, born in Nargund, Karnataka, was an influential leader known for his association with the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and later the Bharatiya Janata Party. He played a pivotal role in the Goa Liberation Movement, which sought to end Portuguese colonial rule in Goa. Owing to his courage and leadership during this movement, he was honored with the title “Karnataka Kesari.” Joshi was also celebrated for his mastery of several languages and his ability to connect with people across regions. His legacy is preserved by a government school named after him in Sanquelim, Goa.
