Moreshvar Pingale was the second Peshwa (prime minister) of the Maratha Empire, succeeding his father Moropant Trimbak Pingale, who was the first Peshwa under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The position of Peshwa played a central role in shaping Maratha administration and military strategies. Moreshvar's appointment marked a period of continuity and stability in Maratha governance following Shivaji’s era, and he was also the elder brother of Bahiroji Pingale. His name is less known compared to later Peshwas, but his contributions were significant in consolidating state power during a formative period.
