W. C. Bannerjee
Womesh Chandra Banerjee is credited with presiding over the inaugural session of the Indian National Congress in the year 1885. He was a notable Indian barrister and marked his place in history as the first Indian to contest in the British House of Commons elections, although he fell short of winning.
