Notes: Mahmud Gawan fell a victim to court intrigues and was ordered to be executed by Muhammad Shah Bahmani III, who was educated and brought up by Gawan himself. With his death the glory of the Bahmani Kingdom waned and soon it broke up into five Shahi Kingdoms of the Deccan.
