Both Nilambar and Pitambar
The 1857 uprising in Palamu was led by twin brothers Nilambar Sahi and Pitambar Sahi. They belonged to the Chero and Khairwar communities. They united local tribes against British rule by attacking government buildings and police stations. Their leadership played a central role in organizing the rebellion in that region. Other figures like Thakur Shahdev were not leaders of this revolt in Palamu.
