Notes: National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is the apex government body responsible for laying down policies related to disaster management in India. It is chaired by Prime Minister and has nine other members. It was set up as per the Disaster Management Act, 2005. It is mainly involved in coordinating response to natural and manmade disasters and improving disaster resilience within India.
