Notes: Panjab High Court was renamed Punjab and Haryana High Court in 1966; Mehar Singh was its first Chief Justice after renaming. Please note Justice Ram Lall was first Chief Justice of Chief Justices of Punjab High Court, which existed between 1947 and 1966. Before 1947, it was Lahore High Court (1920–1947) and its first Chief Justice was Sir Shadi Lal. Before 1920, the same court was Chief Court of the Punjab (1880–1919) and the first Chief Judge of that court was Sir Henry Meredyth Plowden from 1880 to 1895.
