Notes: Jizya was abolished by Akbar in 1564 and 1579 as part of his religious tolerance policy, Sulh-i-Kul. He integrated Hindus into his administration and married Hindu princesses. Aurangzeb reintroduced jizya in 1679 to promote Islamic orthodoxy, reversing Akbar's inclusive policies and increasing religious tensions.
