Gulf of Suez, also the Sea of Calm, is a gulf located at the northern end of Red Sea. It is located in between Egypt mainland to the west and Sinai peninsula of Egypt to the east. This gulf was caused due to the Gulf of Suez Rift happened 26 million years ago. The mid-line of this gulf forms the boundary between Africa and Asia. This gulf is considered as one of the world's important maritime zones due to being an entrance to the Suez canal.
