Notes: Recently, President Draupadi Murmu launched India’s latest super computer Param-Kamrupa, a high-performance computing cluster named after Assam’s historic kingdom of Kamrupa. This supercomputer facility has replaced Param-Ishan as the northeast region’s fastest and most powerful supercomputer. Param-Ishan was inaugurated in IIT Guwahati in 2016. Param-Kamrupa was set up at IIT Guwahati under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) – a joint initiative of the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) and the department of Science and Technology (DST). There were 15 such super computers that were deployed across the country.
