Notes: A five-year scientific estimation has revealed that Himachal Pradesh is home to 75 snow leopards, which is the highest in India. The estimation was conducted as part of the Snow Leopard Population Assessment in India. In India, they are found in the Himalayan states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, besides Himachal Pradesh. The highest densities of snow leopards were found in the trans-Himalayan regions of Spiti and Pin valley.
