The Hornby Vellard united Colaba, Old Woman’s Island, Bombay, Mazgaon, Parel, Mahim, and Worli into modern Mumbai. Constructed between 1782-1784 under Governor William Hornby, the project created a continuous landmass and enabled significant development of Bombay.
